If GMA 7 has bought the franchise of the biggest reality show "Survivor", ABS-CBN will not be left behind. The kapamilya network just acquired the rights of Fear Factor", another hit reality competition that originated from the Netherlands, the country where the Big Brother series came from.
In the United States, Fear Factor is NBC's answer to CBS network's Survivor. It was conceptualized by Endemol, the same company that brought Big Brother to the world, on June 11, 2001.
The show pits contestants against each other to complete a series of stunts better and/or quicker than all the other contestants for a grand prize of US$50,000.
25 countries has their own version of Fear Factor including Malaysia, South Africa, Greece, England, Bulgaria, Mexico, Australia, Indonesia and India. And now the Philippines will have its own version courtesy of ABS-CBN.
